Dodgers' Cody Bellinger: Back in center field for Game 5
Bellinger (back) is starting in center field and batting sixth in Game 5 of the World Series against the Rays on Sunday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports. The 25-year-old was moved to designated hitter prior to Game 4 due to lower-back stiffness, but he's back in center field with the series now tied at two games apiece. Bellinger is 2-for-15 with one home run, two RBI and three walks through the first four games of the series.
Dodgers' Cody Bellinger: Battling minor back issue
Bellinger's move to designated hitter for Game 4 of the World Series against the Rays on Saturday is due to lower-back stiffness, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.Initial speculation was that Bellinger was still feeling the effects of the minor shoulder injury he suffered while celebrating his homer in Game 7 of the NLCS on Sunday, but he's evidently dealing with an entirely new problem. The back issue, which was reportedly popped up overnight, is seemingly not a major problem, as he's at least able to hit. A.J. Pollock moves out from the designated hitter spot to cover center field in Bellinger's absence.
Dodgers' Cody Bellinger: Switches to DH spot
Bellinger switched from center field to designated hitter after a late lineup change prior to Saturday's World Series Game 4 matchup against the Rays, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.A reason for the move wasn't provided by the team, though it's potentially related to the minor shoulder injury he suffered while celebrating his go-ahead homer in Game 7 of the NLDS back on Sunday. He hasn't missed any starts during the World Series and hit a homer back in Game 1, so if the shoulder is indeed bothering him, it doesn't seem to be a major issue. A.J. Pollock, who had originally been listed as the designated hitter, will move out to take his spot in center field.
