The Nationals optioned Read to their alternate training site Sunday.Read's latest stint with the big club lasted just one day, as he served as the team's 29th man in its doubleheader Saturday versus the Mets. Assuming the 26-year-old sticks on the Nationals' 40-man roster through the offseason, he'll likely open the 2021 campaign at Triple-A Fresno.
